Brexit
At the time of writing, the UK was due to leave the European Union (EU) on 29 March 2019. If and when the UK does leave the EU, some of the rules described in this chapter, and the relevant legislation, will change. At the time of writing, the details of these changes, and the dates they will take effect, were uncertain, as many issues were unknown including whether or not the UK would leave under the terms of an agreement with the EU.
