7. Getting paid
As income-related and contributory employment and support allowance (ESA) are two types of the same benefit, the rules described on here on getting paid contributory ESA also apply to income-related ESA.
For details of when your income-related ESA might be paid at a reduced rate, see here.
Change of circumstances
You must report changes in your circumstances that you have been told to report, as well as any that you might reasonably be expected to know might affect your right to, the amount of or the payment of your benefit. You should do this as soon as possible, preferably in writing. See here for further information.
Note: if you become a member of a couple with someone entitled to universal credit, your entitlement to income-related ESA ends (see here).
