Although prescription can appear straightforward, it is a complex area of law. Advisers should always seek specialist help or support if they are unsure how to proceed as an improperly worded letter to a creditor may constitute a relevant acknowledgement and may interrupt prescription running, meaning it resets the prescription clock.
